Elder care is a highly touched upon topic inside the United States. We’ve had to make a bunch of advancements since 100 years ago where the average age was 48. Now that people live past their late 40’s the US supreme court has had to officiate and accommodate for senior life inside the US. And we have been doing pretty well as a country, as we have the highest number of senior citizens in the world and it will do nothing but continue to grow as we progress through time. Because of this growing senior population, nursing homes are starting to become a popular business and we see more and more being created and it is working greatly. The reason we didn’t have that many old people 100 years ago is because of sanitary, physical, and mental conditions. But as we have modernized and understood what the elderly need to survive, we now know how to prolong their lives. In fact the population of this type of business has gotten so popular that Texas governor Greg Abbott has invested 3.6 million dollars in helping advance nursing homes across the state. But a nicer way to live the rest of their life isn’t the only benefit senior citizens are able to attain. The official texas government website gives us a whole webpage of what services they have provided for the aging population(Aging | Texas Health and Human Services.) With elder care unavoidably becoming a huge part of american society, we need to learn how to keep up with this wave, and the advancements we have made over the last century will be dwarfed compared to what we will do for the aging population a century in the future n
